The truth here is, virtual meetings are slowly becoming part of our new normal.

What are the Reasons Why Jamboard Google is it a Top of the Line Digital Whiteboard?

traditional whiteboardGoogle Jamboard is one of the leading names in the digital whiteboard market today. Digital whiteboards are an upgraded, modernized version of the traditional whiteboards. They are highly interactive and can be used for in-person or remote collaboration in a shared space. Internet connectivity for these pieces of equipment makes real-time collaboration possible.

Google Jamboard and other similar devices are ideal for use during corporate meetings and presentations. Educators will certainly find them highly indispensable for online or distance learning because they can have their students use them to sketch out their ideas, solve mathematical problems, etc.

Students can also use Jamboard online to draw, synchronously, and collaboratively. And any work they completed or modifications made on the same, either by the teacher or students, are also automatically uploaded to the associated Google Drive account for cloud storage. They can also opt for local storage on their computer, and save it as a PDF file.

The physical whiteboard device is not fully functional without an accompanying free app, that is readily available through your browser. Mobile devices run by the Android operating system or iOS can download this app.

Key Points Why You Should Use Jamboard Google

1. Jamboard online comes with an array of user-friendly annotation and editing features.

This interactive whiteboard will not be hailed in the industry as one of the top-of-the-line for no good reason. It offers users a handful of markup usability and functionality features, and collaborators can take good advantage of them for various business and classroom applications. The pen, highlighter, marker, and brush are the free-form drawing options that you can use for your individual unique needs.

There are 6 color options to choose from (Blue, Black, Red, Green, White, and Yellow). And much like how traditional whiteboards work, you can also make use of digital sticky notes when you want to insert a note or want to put an annotation directly to the jam. And depending on your purpose, you are free to move them around the jam frame, resize them, or change their color to something else.

Finally, there is also a Laser feature. This feature is most helpful when you want to briefly highlight specific frame areas for the benefit of your collaborators.

  1. Stock Backgrounds

Jamboard users get to enjoy a good amount of freedom when they can choose from 6 different background frame options with respect to their requirements. This would come in the form of rules, dots, graphs, squares, and chalkboards.

Choosing “Dots” would be displaying a pattern grid of small dots whereas “Rules” would be displaying instead a ruled horizontal lines arrangement. This is very much similar to loose-leaf paper.

As for the “Squares” option, this will have a display of a white graph grid in blue lines. And the ”Graph ” would have a grey graph grid in lines of white. The “Blue” option will display instead of a blue solid background. With the “Chalkboard” option, what you have instead is a solid white background, very much the same as how the traditional whiteboard is. And all these backgrounds are predefined within a jam for specific frames.

These frames are highly customizable and can be done with their very own background, if at all necessary.

access sharing

  1. Customizable Permissions and Access Sharing

You can share Jam via a direct link. Jam links, by default, are set to “Restricted”.  By restricted, this means to say that only those people whom the file owner added to the session can access the link.

By selecting the “Anyone with a Link” option, you can give non-users an option to open up your file. This is most useful when adding all users to your Jam is not an option to consider.

Online users of the Jamboard app come in 2 user roles. They can be a “Viewer”, these are those who were granted access to the Jam. Therefore, they can view any edits or modifications made as they unfold or view the frames, however, they have limited action because they are barred from making edits to the Jam or put annotations to it.

The second type of Jamboard online user is the “Editors”. These users are not only granted full access to a Jam session but they can also make modifications and annotations to it, too.

     4. Exportability and Cloud Storage

At any given time, users can choose to download their saved jam session as a PDF file. Alternatively, they can also choose “Save frame as image” when trying to save specific frames such as a PNG file.

After completing a Jam session in Jamboard Google, this will be automatically saved and uploaded to the associated Google Drive account. You can have your Jams organized into folders, much like any other type of file that we can have on this Google storage cloud.
